Terms of Service
Last updated: [date]
These terms are an agreement between you and [operator name] ("we", "us"), which operates JellyRelay (the "service") at customer.jellyrelay.com. By creating an account or using the service, you accept these terms, the Privacy Policy and the Acceptable Use Policy.
1. The service
JellyRelay gives a Jellyfin server that you run a secure public address, so you and the people you invite can reach it from any network without opening ports on your router. A plugin on your server keeps an outbound connection to one of our relay servers, which passes viewers' requests to your server and its responses back.
- Your media stays on your server. We do not host, store, index or select any content.
- You need your own Jellyfin server and an internet connection. Streaming quality depends on your server and its upload speed as well as on the service.
- Jellyfin is free software by the Jellyfin project, which is not affiliated with us.
2. Your account
- You must be of the age of majority where you live to open an account.
- You sign in through our sign-in provider. Keep your sign-in secure; you are responsible for activity under your account.
- One person or household per account. Do not create accounts to get around plan limits.
- Activation codes and server credentials are personal to your server. Do not share them.
3. Plans, payment and cancellation
- Plans are billed monthly in advance through our payment processor, Stripe. Prices are shown before you subscribe.
- Each plan sets a number of servers, a bandwidth per server and a monthly data allowance. When the allowance is used up, streaming through the service stops until the next calendar month (UTC) or until you change plans.
- You can cancel at any time from Manage billing in your account. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you paid for and is not renewed.
- Payments are not refunded for partial periods, except where the law requires it.
- If a payment fails, the payment processor retries it for a period and asks you to update your payment method. If it still fails, your subscription ends and the service stops for your servers.
- We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice by email or in your account. A change applies from your next billing period; you can cancel before then.
4. Acceptable use
You must follow the Acceptable Use Policy. In short: share only content you have the right to share, only with people you choose, and do not use the service to harm others or the service.
5. Your content and responsibility
- You are solely responsible for your server, the content on it and who you give access to.
- To deliver your server's responses, relays decrypt traffic in memory while passing it through. We do not store, inspect or log that content. See the Privacy Policy.
- Sign-in to your Jellyfin server is handled by Jellyfin itself. Use strong passwords and keep Jellyfin up to date.
6. Availability and changes
- We work to keep the service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Maintenance, network problems or capacity limits can interrupt it.
- We may move your server to another relay at any time; your address stays the same.
- We may change or discontinue features. If we discontinue the service, we will give at least 30 days' notice and refund unused prepaid time.
7. Suspension and termination
- You can stop using the service and cancel at any time.
- We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, if payment fails, if required by law, or to protect the service or others. Where reasonable we will tell you why and give you a chance to fix the problem first.
- After termination, we handle your data as described in the Privacy Policy.
8. Disclaimers and liability
To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided "as is", and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits or lost data, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights that consumer-protection law gives you and that cannot be waived.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. For changes that matter to you, we will give at least 30 days' notice by email or in your account. If you keep using the service after a change takes effect, the new terms apply; if you do not agree, you can cancel before then.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of [jurisdiction], without limiting mandatory consumer-protection rights where you live.
